Best burger ever...

I just went to Carl's Jr. and had the most amazing burger I've had in a long time.

The Double Prime Rib burger (no bun, no onions). I edited the picture slightly to make it look more like what I actually ate today. But it still doesn't look right. But I digress.

5 stars. 2 thumbs up. Simply amazing.

Loser Week 1 results.

Today was the 1 week mark for my work's weight loss competition. So far, so good. I lost a whopping 20.5 pounds. Below are the semi-daily pictures I took.

On a down note...

Prior to purchasing our condo, I checked and re-checked what utilities were included in our HOA fee. I was told (and re-told) that our electricity was included. About 2 months ago I got a note on my door saying that my electricity was going to be cut off because there was "no applicant on file." I was confused as to what that meant and just assumed it was a mistake. About a month ago I got another note on my door. This time I decided to verify (again) with my HOA that my electricity was covered. The lady I spoke with was not 100% sure but she thought that it was included. She said she would check with the HOA president and call me back if she was mistaken.
I never received a call back so I assumed that I was ok. I assumed wrong apparently.
Thank heaven that I was home today waiting for the swamp cooler. Rocky mountain power came to shut off my electricity. I answered and the tech told me if I called right now he wouldn't shut it off. So I did.
And they back-billed me to march 1. I now owe 300 dollars.
Lame.

Finally!

Our swamp cooler is finally working!!! The main water line was crimped so no water was getting to the pads (as I suspected). It is fixed and at 7:00 pm it's already below 80 degrees! (77!) I bet if it had been working all day it would be 72 right now. Woot!

Yet again...

The HVAC peeps are coming back out (for the 4th or 5th time (I can't remember)) to check on why the BRAND NEW swamp cooler isn't working properly. I hope it gets fixed soon, cuz it being 90+ inside when you have no where to go to cool off is getting really annoying.

I have tried a multitude of differnt configuration options that have been suggested including having the windows only 1-2 inches wide, turning theswamp cooler down to low-cool and opening the windows up wider. Nothing helps. All I know is that it should be blowing cool air, and it's not. I assume that the water is either off, or not properly being pumped to the pads.

Make it stop.

My work is starting 2 new contests. "The Biggest Loser" and "The Biggest Winner."
"Loser" starts today and consists of a weight loss competition. It will end on November 30th. I thought it would be interesting to get a face shot and a body shot of myself on several days throughout the competition so my progress can be visually documented. I won't be able to get a picture every day, I'm sure, but I'll document what day of the contest it is. Here are my disappointing starting pictures.














In the end, I'm hoping to get back to being closer like my old self. When I envision myself at my best, I look like this (or better!):















I really want and need to lose weight, so I'm going to work at it hard. Any and all forms of motivation are appreciated.

"The Biggest Winner" starts on September 1 and is a fitness competition to encourage those who work here to get out and excercise. I'm not sure exactly how the competition will be layed out, but it will help further encourage those who work here to get fit. I'm excited! If I do well, I have the potential to win an iPod and/or a $500 Visa Gift Card.

So sore...

Last night was game 2 for our work softball rec league. It happened to be the first game that I was able to attend. I barely did anything during the enture game, but I'm still very sore. I gotta get back in shape (or rather, get in a shape that isn't so round). I played catcher for 2 innings, and couldn't catch the ball worth anything. Thank heavens they you can't steal bases in rec softball. Whenever a pitch would come in, (usually to the right of the plate) I'd scoot over to get it, but the ump was standing to the right of me, not behind me, so I kept running into him and the ball would go all the way back to the back-stop.
I got to go up for bat twice as well. I got 2 singles which resulted in 1 RBI and 1 run. The 2nd time I was on base, I had someone else run for me (thank heaven). We still got our butts kicked though. We lost 14-6.

Hot condo

Yeah. I'm going to complain more. It got up to 91 INSIDE our condo
today. It's past midnight and it just dropped below 80. And this is
after I just spent 500 bucks to get our swamp cooler replaced.

I EFFING LOVE THE OLYMPICS! The drama, the tension, the competition, the sport. It's GREAT! I'm going to be glued to my TV (and computer) for the next 2 and a half weeks keeping up with the Olympics. GO TEAM USA!

What is there to say about China and their atrocities? They're lame. They need to knock it off. But during the Olympics, I'm not saying anything else. Afterwords will be another story.

Hell on earth exists in my condo

Our swamp cooler is being replaced at the moment. It's reduculously
hot. Our condo has been hotter in the past with the swamp cooler
running all day but right now the humidity is probably 85%. This is
reduculous. Hopefully after getting raped for $500, our condo won't be
unbearable anymore.

The Incredible Flying Cousins

My family had a swim party yesterday for our quarterly family home evening get together. This time we were at Brandon's neighborhood pool. In the pictures below, Brandon is launching some of my nephews into near-outer space. Sorry that the pictures are blurry, it must have been humid and had some condensation on the lens of my crappy camera on my phone.

Cabin Dwelling

Over the weekend we went to the Davis Family Cabin near Strawberry Reservoir. We got there Thursday night and stayed until Saturday afternoon. We had fun playing games, watching movies and eating junk. Here are a couple of pictures from our fun weekend:
